The Market Gap

The market ends
at $600.
We start there.

Emergency preparedness products split into two camps: consumer-grade kits designed to satisfy liability checklists, and military surplus built for indefinite off-grid living. Neither was built for a household with real assets and real standards.

"You have a backup generator, an estate attorney, and a $200K car. Why is your emergency kit an $85 Amazon box?"

The gap exists because no one has built the right product for this buyer. We do.

Real-World Use Cases

Three scenarios. One system handles all of them.

Emergency preparedness isn't about fear. It's about not being caught without options in a scenario you already know is possible.

01
Wildfire Evacuation
T-90 min mandatory order issued
What fails without preparation
  • Cell towers overloaded — calls won't connect
  • Gas station pumps offline — no power, no fuel
  • ATMs down — cash unavailable
  • Highway jammed — 14-hour evacuation corridors
What changes with a Resilient Domain system

Iridium 9575 transmits when no cell tower is reachable. Goal Zero Yeti keeps critical devices running through a multi-day evacuation. Pre-staged GoRuck load-out means you leave in four minutes, not forty.

02
Urban Grid-Down Event
72-hr blackout — infrastructure collapsing
What fails without preparation
  • Pharmacy closed — no prescription refill access
  • Water pressure dropping in high-rises
  • Traffic signals down — city gridlock
  • No phone charging — complete communications loss
What changes with a Resilient Domain system

Goal Zero powers medical devices, phones, and communications gear for 72+ hours. Sawyer filtration handles any water source. Garmin inReach maintains two-way contact with family across the city.

03
Remote Property Medical
Emergency — 40 miles from nearest hospital
What fails without preparation
  • No cell signal — 911 unreachable
  • Nearest ER is 45 minutes, minimum
  • Local volunteer services overwhelmed
  • No trauma capability on-site
What changes with a Resilient Domain system

Dark Angel DARK IFAK provides military-grade trauma stabilization. Garmin inReach Mini 2 sends GPS coordinates directly to GEOS International Emergency Response — they dispatch services to your exact location, globally, without a cell signal.

Component Standards

The same eight standards.
Across every system.

Every Resilient Domain tier is built from the same disciplined component set. The Sentinel is a single-person 72-hour version of it. The Elite is a full 7-day household version. Apex One is the household version with redundancy and service. The standards do not change.

Architecture

9 subsystems.
Zero single
points of failure.

200+ products evaluated. Every component had to clear four criteria: redundancy value, stress-operability, weight-to-capability ratio, and a 5-year reliability window.

  • 01 Communications — primary + satellite backup
  • 02 Power — battery + solar / hand crank
  • 03 Medical — IFAK + extended care
  • 04 Mobility — load carriage + vehicle kit
  • 05 Sustenance — filtration + caloric reserves
  • 06 Navigation — GPS + analog backup
  • 07 Security — less-lethal + deterrent
  • 08 Shelter — emergency bivouac capability
  • 09 Documentation — ID, cash, digital backup

Engineering Standard

Four rules. Every component survives all four.

01
Primary + Backup
Every critical function has two systems. Single points of failure are disqualifying. If satellite phone fails, GPS still works. If power fails, backup exists.
02
Stress Simplicity
Operable by a non-specialist under acute stress. No gear requiring a manual. If training is needed, we deliver it in person at the Apex One briefing.
03
Weight Discipline
Elite max 25 lbs. Every gram is justified. Nothing that duplicates another component's function without adding a new one. The 23.95 lb verified weight is a design outcome.
04
5-Year Window
All electronics operate -20°F to 140°F. IP67 minimum for primary systems. Apex One annual refresh replaces any component inside its reliability window before it becomes a liability.

Included With Every System

More than the components.

A bag of expensive gear without context isn't preparedness — it's clutter. Every Resilient Domain system ships with the documentation, branding, and onboarding that turns equipment into capability.

Tier-Specific Field Manual
A printed, bound manual built for your exact tier. Component-by-component quick-starts: how to deploy the Iridium when no tower is reachable, how to apply the IFAK tourniquet, how to set up the Yeti for sustained medical-device load. Written so a non-specialist can use it under acute stress.
Sentinel · Elite · Apex One
Resilient Domain Patch
A custom embroidered Resilient Domain wordmark patch is mounted to the front of every bag — Sentinel, Elite, and Apex One. Tier-specific colorway. The mark identifies the system; the system identifies the household. Additional patches and brand accessories available for owners.
All Tiers · Tier-distinct colorways
Component Verification Card
Each system ships with a serial-numbered card listing every component, lot/serial where applicable, and a verified weight. Photographed before shipment. The card is your record that the system was assembled to spec — not just dropped in a box.
Sentinel · Elite · Apex One
Onboarding Call + Briefing
Every tier includes a follow-up onboarding session — a 30-minute video call for Sentinel and Elite, an in-person 1–2 hour household briefing for Apex One. We walk through deployment scenarios specific to your location, threat profile, and household. You leave knowing how to use the system, not just that you own it.
30 min (Sentinel/Elite) · 1–2 hr in-person (Apex One)

Why I'm Building This

A note from the founder.

JK FOUNDER RD · 001 EST · 2026 JACK KIDDER RESILIENT DOMAIN

Most emergency products are designed to make you feel prepared — not to actually prepare you. They're priced for impulse purchases and engineered around price points, not capabilities.

I've spent months evaluating every premium component on the market. Iridium for global voice. Garmin for two-way satellite messaging. Goal Zero for medical-device-capable power. Dark Angel for trauma. GoRuck for 30,000-ruck-tested load carriage.

The result is a system, not a kit. Each component does one job and does it under stress. There is no filler. There is no theater.

If you've already done the work on your estate plan, your insurance, your home security — and you've been waiting for someone to apply the same standard to your emergency kit — that's why I built this.

— Jack Kidder
Founder, Resilient Domain

Common Questions

The questions we get asked.

Why not just buy these components separately? +
Assembly isn't the value — system design is. Anyone can order a GoRuck bag and an Iridium phone. What we deliver is months of component evaluation, weight optimization across 14 items to hit a verified 23.95-lb target, subsystem redundancy architecture, and a configured, tested unit ready to deploy. You'd spend 60–80 hours and $500–$800 in shipping returns to replicate what we ship pre-built. The Apex One also includes a household briefing and an annual refresh cadence — those aren't items you can buy separately anywhere.
What's included beyond the gear itself? +
Every system ships with three deliverables that aren't gear: a tier-specific bound field manual (component-by-component quick-starts written for non-specialists under stress), an embroidered Resilient Domain patch mounted to the bag, and an onboarding briefing — a 30-minute video call for Sentinel and Elite, or a 1–2 hour in-person household briefing at Apex One. The manual and onboarding are how you actually become capable of using the system, not just owning it. See the "Included With Every System" section above for full detail.
Is everything in the kit legal in all 50 states? +
Yes. Every component ships legally to all 50 states. The Byrna SD is a CO2-powered launcher — not a firearm — and requires no federal firearms license (FFL) anywhere in the United States. No item in any tier requires a background check, special permit, or restricted shipping. We've reviewed the regulatory profile of every component specifically to ensure this. If your state has any specific questions on a particular item, we're happy to provide documentation.
When does my unit ship? +
We're currently taking reservations ahead of our first production run. No payment is collected at reservation. When your unit is assembled, component-verified, and weighed to spec, you'll receive a confirmation with payment instructions and a ship date. Founding-member pricing is locked at reservation — your price does not change if we raise MSRP before your unit ships. We'll have specific timing updates for early waitlist members within the first few weeks of production launch.
Can I upgrade from Sentinel to Elite after purchase? +
Yes. We offer a documented upgrade path for all tier transitions. Sentinel → Elite upgrades credit your original purchase price in full, with the delta billed at time of upgrade. This is by design — we expect many clients to start at Sentinel and upgrade once they've experienced the system firsthand. The same applies for Elite → Apex One. Upgrade pricing is guaranteed at founding-member rates for waitlist clients.
What does the Apex One annual refresh include? +
The annual refresh is a complete reliability audit of your system: battery capacity verification on the Yeti 200X (batteries degrade 15–20% per year under storage conditions), MRE expiration inspection and replacement, IFAK component review against TCCC current standards, and firmware updates on all connected devices. We also assess whether any component has been superseded by a meaningfully better option within the same weight envelope. The in-person delivery briefing at Apex One ensures your household actually knows how to use the system — not just that you own it.
Do you work with estate managers, family offices, or wealth advisors? +
Yes — and this is a channel we're building intentionally. Estate managers, family office directors, and wealth advisors who recommend Resilient Domain to clients are eligible for our referral program (10% per confirmed unit, paid at time of shipment). We can provide product briefings, sample units for review, and white-labeled documentation for client presentations. If you manage preparedness decisions for HNW households, reach out directly at jack@kidder.net — we'll set up a call.
